Meet Jenna-Loiuse Coleman. She’ll be taking over the role of The Doctor’s companion when Doctor Who returns for its Seventh Season later this year.
Series Seven is going to see the exit of Amy Pond-Williams and Rory Williams as the 11th Doctors companions, and Jenna-Louise will step in to fill the role of the doctor’s newest companion. Personally speaking, Amy & Rory will be severely missed. Amy & Rory are arguably the Doctor’s greatest companions, and also the parents of the Doctors wife; their impact on the Doctors life has been monumental. I can’t imagine how Jenna-Louise’ character will top them, but I’m sure she will do an excellent job.
Steven Moffat dropped some hints to Amy and Rory’s final adventure with The Doctor, stating ”Amy and Rory will leave in a final encounter with the Weeping Angels in episode 5. Not everyone gets out alive and I mean it this time.”

Moffat also teased how Jenna-Loiuse will be introduced into the show and what we can expect from her character:
“It always seems impossible when you start casting these parts, but when we saw Matt and Jenna together, we knew we had our girl. She’s funny and clever and exactly mad enough to step on board the TARDIS.
It’s not often the Doctor meets someone who can talk even faster than he does, but it’s about to happen. Jenna is going to lead him his merriest dance yet. And that’s all you’re getting for now. Who she’s playing, how the Doctor meets her, and even where he finds her, are all part of one of the biggest mysteries the Time Lord ever encounters. Even by the Doctor’s standards, this isn’t your usual boy meets girl.”
The 7th Season of Doctor Who will premiere sometime in the later half of this year. I’m eager to see what adventures The Doctor has in store for us!

Thanks to io9 and BBC for the heads up
