At some point in time there has to be a relationship between two people. Irrespective of whether said relationship is one of common interest, or an unbreakable bond of friendship; one that involves being business partners; or one that has and blossoms with romantic reasons. It’s part of the universal cycle of things, so it’s natural and in itself part of nature. So why does something that’s meant to be as natural as breathing in and out (maybe not that natural but still) seem so artificially difficult? How is it that it feels like a complex process of carefully planned steps; in which a wrong choice could shatter the whole tree-path? Of course at this juncture you know I’m not talking about a partnership but with respect to romantic levels.

I’ve seen different pictures with this particular note. It more or less catches the phrase “The grass is always greener on the other side.” No matter how you look at it, each side has one reason or the other to be happy; and this or these same reason(s) would make the other side jealous in one way or the other.

OH NANA! okay you know what? I never thought I would feature Rihanna in a Dancing Silhouettes Music spotlight. I hope our high over lord doesn’t fire me but I just have to get this out of my system.
I can not escape this song. On the train to School today, this little girl kept playing it on her fathers phone…. on repeat….. for the duration of the 48 minute train ride. At the mall the song was being blasted through the speakers in every store. I had no choice but to listen and succumb to it. I found myself humming “oh nana, whats my name?”.
Although this song, being the radio friendly, easily palatable pop Ballard that it is, could have easily been sung by Beyonce , Rihanna shines in this song. This is her song, she is the island girl and this song has this catchy, memorizing dance hall island beat to it. The song just fits Rihanna. No one can pull it off like her.
I’m not gonna write anymore about this song. Just going to tell you to enjoy it. Rihanna and the producers of the beat, crafted an infectious melody, helped along by Drakes delivery in his shirt but sweet opening lines. Its a nice song.

The Fall anime season is here, and with it comes exciting new shows. Fall is when the big boys come out to play, its when the cream of the crop anime are launched, so as you would expect I had very high hopes for this fall, sadly I was disappointed, the only shows I picked to watch this fall called “A certain Magical Index” was a show returning for its second season not a brand new show.
Sadly I found nothing new interest EXCEPT one particular show known as Star Driver (full name STAR DRIVER: TAKUTO of the Radiance).Once I read about this show I knew I was going to watch it and love it instantly because Star Driver is created by StudioBONES,my favorite anime studio and developers of some of my personal favorite and critically acclaimed anime such as Full Metal Alchemist, Eureka 7, Xam’d: Lost Memories, Soul Eater and Darker than Black among others.
Anything by BONES is a must watch for me. The studio’s animation is pitch perfect to the very last detail, their story lines are fresh and original and they always tend to do something amazing with their shows.
First of all what is Star Driver about? Well here’s the official plot from the studio
“This story takes place on an island named Southern Cross Isle. One night, a boy named Takuto washes up on shore swimming from the mainland. He later enrolls in Southern Cross High School as a freshmen and makes new friends. However, underneath the school is a group of mysterious giants called Cybodies. Soon Takuto, The “Ginga Bishonen” (or “Galactic Pretty Boy”) sees himself in a fight with a mysterious organization known as “Kiraboshi Juujidan” (Translated to “Glittering Crux Brigade”) which intend to take possession of the island’s Cybodies for their own purposes and break the seals of the shrine maidens, the protectors of the islands secrets.”
And here’s my version
“A boy who calls himself the “galactic pretty boy” (WTF??!!!LOL), ends up on this island where he has to protect this one chick from being captured and having her “seal broken” (sounds a lot like someone wants her virginity) by these group of evil people who wear funny costumes and masks. Our Galactic pretty boy pilots a giant robot (these robots are referred to as Cybodies in the shows) called Taubarn and uses it to fight against the bad guys and their giant robots. Apparently if the bad guys defeat Galactic pretty boy and break this last chick’s seal, they can manifest all the giant robots to real life and use their super powers to take over the world”
Now for my take on the show
Very first thing I noticed, this show as PERFECT animation. I would expect nothing less of BONES. The animation is extremely detailed and fluid, especially the giant robot battles. This shit does not disappoint. I find my self rewinding and re-watching the battles just because of the sheer amazing-ness of it all. It reminds me of the animation from the final battle in Xam’d, my jaw was open, it was pure eye candy, I’m tempted to post a video of the fight from Xam’d here but I wont because my partner hasn’t watched the show yet and I don’t wanna spoil it for him. My point is Star Driver’s fight scene’s are amazingly made and highly entertaining.
Story wise, I’m still a bit confused to be honest, since the show only just started there are so many questions that have been asked but haven’t been answered yet but its definitely intriguing, I want to know the mystery of the island, I want to know who created the Cybodies, I want to know the bad guys ultimate plans, I want to know why Takuto was chosen to be the Galactic Pretty Boy. The characters are interesting enough, I enjoy their interactions and and relationships and it’s interesting how almost everyone on the Island is a bad guy (they wear masks and shit so they don’t all know each others identity).
The main character Takuto (galactic pretty boy) is definitely an interesting individual, he is also very skinny, in fact all the characters on the show are extremely skinny or very physically fit. The character design is definitely intriguing, especially the robots. I mean look at Tauburn (pic below) Look at those mother fucking bad ass hips.
but you know what? I really like this design! Its unconventional, its new, its fresh, its BONES.
As par tone, mood and theme, the show is a mixture of Comedy, Drama and of course action. The comedy bits are very interesting and often outrageous,for example: female characters having fantasies about the galactic pretty boy and another male character hooking up. The most outrageous thing with in the show though is when our main character..well…I think its better I let you watch on your own to get the full effect (the way he swings them hips men. so fabulous)
The drama aspect focuses more on the 3 main characters and the love triangle brewing up between them. its an interesting Dynamic and I”m intrigued to see where it goes. Takuto must protect the maiden Wako (the chick in the middle) and Wako is engaged to the married to Sugata(the blue haired dude, and apparently owner of the most powerful cybody in the world, which for some reason he can’t activate yet), all this while Wako is falling in love with Takuto
and the action? I have mentioned that this shit DOES NOT disappoint. Its simply FABULOUS!
what else is there to say? ah yes! I absolutely love the opening theme song, it represents everything this show is about, its colorful, crazy, fun and just plain fabulous!
Star Driver might not have enough meat on its bones(no pun intended) yet, but it is definitely shaping up to be one of the best new original anime of the year and for sure a new favorite of mine. But who knows, I might just be extremely biased because this show comes from BONES. Either way its a fun show and I look forward to each new episode with anticipation and excitement.

Unrequited Love: love that is not openly reciprocated or understood as such, even though reciprocation is usually deeply desired. The beloved may or may not be aware of the admirer’s deep affections.
Love is a beautiful thing, it brings joy, happiness and warmth like you have never felt before, but as rewarding as it may be love is also pain.
I believe love is the only way a human being can truly let their guard down, sadly you become vulnerable once your is guard down. You are most vulnerable when you are in love, you are open for attack from every angle.
It’s quite fascinating actually, to witness the emotional degradation of another human being, to see first hand how two otherwise protected and highly guarded human beings let down their walls and build a connection towards another person, they stop relying on themselves and instead begin to rely on the one they have fallen in love with. So it makes me wonder, what happens when you love someone but that person doesn’t love you back? it’s a classic case of unrequited love, you love her, she doesn’t love you, you love him, he doesn’t see you as anything more than a close friend. we’ve all experienced it before, whether it’s a crush, an emotionally neglectful significant other or in a worse case scenario a parent who is incapable of loving a child. There is a difference between unrequited love and naivety, if anything when I let my guard down for a potential lady friend I usually suffer from naivety, is it because I’m inexperienced in the ways of the world? or am I just scared?
unrequited love on the other hand is another deal, its love to the point of obsession and unquestionable loyalty even though the one you threw your metaphorical ball of feelings at did not throw his or her’s back. Right now I know what it feels like, not to experience unrequited love min you, but to be on the receiving end of it, she likes me, she loves me, she adores me with every fiber of her being, and I know this, but I just can’t give myself to her the way she has given herself to me, I love her but not the way she wants me to. I try my best to keep in the “grey zone” an objective zone between black and white where I never have to be her lover or the one that broke her heart. I have effectively friend zoned her, I feel black and empty inside every time I talk to her knowing full well she would do anything for me. Why haven’t I made my feeling on the matter clear? its because I’m comfortable, I’m safe , I’m guarded, I have my walls up and I can go on about my daily life, living one hedonistic adventure to another and I know if I am ever in trouble, if I ever fall down or if I am ever persecute she will be there for me unconditionally. the woman who loves me that I don’t love, the one that will always be on my side, the one that will always see the good in me. my unrequited love.
